Can't make it to Dawsonville? Mail us your saw chains. We sharpen the cutters, file the depth gauges, and ship them back.
Round-trip shipping is charged at checkout. If 10 or more chains are sharpened, we refund your return shipping. Any rejected chains are refunded the $10 fee per chain.

How it works
- Fill out the form below and pay $10 per chain plus round-trip shipping. We email you a copy of the form.
- We email you a prepaid shipping label (same or next business day).
- Print your copy of the form.
- Put the printed copy inside your package.
- Ship only the chains. No bars, cases, or packaging, please.
- Mail-in pitches: 1/4", 3/8" LP, .325", 3/8" and .404".
- 3/4" pitch: does not qualify for mail-in — call OPE at (706) 397-7290.
- We do not sharpen carbide chains. Do not send carbide chains. Any carbide chain we receive is rejected, returned with your order, and its $10 fee refunded like other rejected chains.
- We do not sharpen chains under 10". Chains that are rust seized will be rejected. Any under-10" or rust-seized chain we receive is rejected, returned with your order, and its $10 fee refunded like other rejected chains.
- Square ground chains: We will sharpen them, but after sharpening they will be our normal round grind, not square.
- Ripping chains are welcome — just please note that ripping chains are included.
- Attach the prepaid label and mail to: Dawsonville Hardware, Attn: Chain Sharpening, 18 Raymond Parks St. S, Dawsonville, GA 30534
- We sharpen the cutters, file the depth gauges, and send the chains back to your return address. If 10 or more chains are sharpened, we refund your return shipping ($25 for 10–19, $35 for 20+).
Damaged or worn-out chains: if a chain is damaged or too far gone, we reject it during sharpening. We send it back in your return package with the rest of the order and refund the $10 fee for each rejected chain.
